Managing Your Organization - and the Media - in a Crisis

8/18/2008

An organization faces a crisis when all the facts of a situation are replaced by perceptions.  Crisis management helps an organization define the real problem and then execute short and the long term strategies for solving that problem.  Any gaps in communications during crises are rapidly filled by rumor, speculation, allegations, and judgment. So control and management of communications is key to successfully resolving a crisis.

This podcast will cover:

-  What is crisis management?
-  What are the trends in crisis management?
-  How crucial is perception versus reality in a crisis?
-  How can communications lessen the impact of a crisis?
-  What are the costs for an organization of a poorly managed crisis?
-  How can companies better prepare themselves to face the threats of a crisis?
